About The Artist

Micaela Tardivo is Paraguayan artist based in Chicago.  She is currently attending the School of the Art Institute of Chicago purs. As a small child Micaela Tardivo used art as a vehicle to escape reality. So, it is not surprise that her artwork is characterized by her child-like representations. Whether it would be about people eating out on a restaurant in Chicago or a person in Paraguay embodying the country’s costume and traditions. Or photographing Latina Women that embody strength and defiance against the United States imperialistic nature. All of her artworks (no matter what medium used) contain bright and vibrant colors. Her artworks are an output of thoughts and ideas that are relevant to her as woman, as a human, as a citizen of Paraguay. Allowing the artwork to show a candid aspect to the viewer. Making it hard to label her as an enigma, and rather, she becomes an open book.
